Senseo Single Cup Coffee Maker

Senseo Single Cup Coffee Maker

A lovely little single serving coffee machine that allows small to larger sized mugs to be placed under it.

The Senseo coffee maker can easily fit on most surfaces and should not take up too much space even in the smallest of kitchens.

Makes gourmet coffee at the touch of a button with a patented system that balances the right amount of coffee with the right amount of water. A special spray head produces a well balanced coffee to filter process although being fair the pods creation in capturing the right bean texture is more responsible for this.

My new Philips Senseo is great in the morning when I'm not quite awake and a strong cup of coffee is needed, a quick touch of a button and the coffee is made within a minute to 90 seconds.

The machine itself does not come with all the fancy loose bits the other manufacturers supply with their machines which makes the Senseo Coffee Maker really easy to use.

It is important to note, that when over filling the water tank/reservoir that the machine is prone to fill the cups too much which leads to a bigger cleanup then originally intended when making coffee.

Also not fitting the pods correctly in the pod holder can result in an overflow of water before it reaches your cup.

Above the stainless steel tray is a nozzle with two holes and you can either sit one cup on the tray or two and there are two buttons on the front of the machine for you to tell it which you've decided. Strangely, whichever option you select the coffee comes out of both holes.

What is also important to remember with the Senseo coffee maker is that the Douwe Egberts Coffee Pods required to make the coffee can be rather expensive for the few you get per pack, shopping around for promotional packs is worth it in the long run.

It is recommended that only Douwe Egberts Coffee Pods are used with the machine as the cheaper alternative brands can not guarantee a good tasting coffee or the correct working procedure for the machine.

I would personally recommend that when one uses the machine regularly to run the de-scaler maintenance function every month instead of the recommended once in three months.

Overall I would say the Philips Senseo Single Cup Coffee Brewer may suit some and not others but the coffee that it makes is nice and frothy, creamy and with a big enough ranges to win over any coffee lover, even those that do not like coffee.
