Love my Bunn Home Coffee Brewer! Review of Bunn Coffee Maker BX

Received my Bunn coffee machine recently. Except for an incident with a broken carafe due to shipping the machine was mostly ready to be used out of the box. Luckily the supplier replaced the carafe free of charge.
I was wondering what kind of coffee would work best in it, however just a simple fine grind like Nabob or Maxwell house Columbian coffee tastes well enough. It was a little bit pricey but considering that most people in my household drink a lot of coffee every single morning it was a worthwhile purchase. It is awesomely fast at brewing the coffee since it always has hot water in the reservoir.
As soon as you put more water in and close the lid the water starts to flow into the filter. Within a few minutes there is a fresh pot waiting to be drunk. It is also extremely easy to use, the filter holder slides out really easily and the water goes in the top of the machine.
Most coffees tend to come out really well, strong and hot like my family likes it. The heating element on the bottom also does a really good job of keeping the coffee hot in the glass carafe. I have had no real issues with the operation of the device at all, the coffee is usually always clear and not gritty at all.
There are a few things that I do not like about the Bunn coffee machine BX. One thing I do not like is that it needs a good cleaning every once in a while to clean off any minerals and calcification. I know this is normal for all coffee makers however this maker needs some special equipment and care, like a special device which you have to specifically use to physically clean out the hot water line to the coffee filter.
Also since the device is always switched on it may not be for the energy conscious. This is not to say you can't switch the machine of completely as there is a switch to shut it off but then you would have to wait longer to heat up the water inside the machine. There is also no auto shutoff for the heated element, simply a on and off switch on the front of the machine. This can be a hassle if you are running a little late for work and have to quickly run out the door, however it is a simple matter of reminding yourself to do this. I've also notice the machine makes a little bit of noise after using it because it is heating more water.
All things considered though, I would still recommend this Bunn coffee machine to other coffee lovers.
