Keurig Coffee Maker B70 - Will Not Buy Another One!

I was so happy to buy a Keurig Coffee maker for my husband 2 years ago. We both loved it, and I didn't drink coffee. I loved teas, but after two years it just stopped working.

According to the manufacture you must clean it every 3 months, which we did not. The only time we cleaned it out was when it won't work, then in that process a message came on the machine that stated it had to be descaled. There were no prior messages to that fact.

So a $170.00 coffee maker is sitting in our garage cause it doesn't work and Keurig said we should have cleaned it out every 3 months.

Just an FYI if you buy one. Will not buy another one!

Fixing Coffee Maker that will not work

My Keurig stopped working. It would start to brew and stop (lock up in brew mode). Would not take up water. You had to unplug unit, wait and plug back in to unfreeze.

So, I unplugged unit then unscrewed the bottom and carefully unscrewed and removed the hose and siphon filter. That is the filter that your water passes through. It was clogged. Then I reassembled. I also blew air through the water line. Once every thing was put back together I followed the descaling process.

It took several attempts of unplugging and turning the unit on and off before it started to work again. It was obvious the system needed to be descaled.

We use this machine everyday but never cleaned the filter. The automatic reminder to "descale" never lit up. So from now on I will pass vinegar through the system every two to three months.
