Hi there, I am looking for ways to clean my Tassimo Coffee Maker.
I only use filtered water for the cleaning cycle on my Tassimo but am thinking about using baking soda?
Do you have any thoughts/comments/ideas?
Thanks.

Hi there Caffeine Daddy,
Thanks for your question.
Good to hear you want to keep your Tassimo Coffee Maker nice and clean.
Although using fresh hot water is very important, I would not recommend using baking soda for the inside of your machine. The chemical reaction baking soda causes can block or damage the internal pipes in your machine.
There are several products you can buy online specifically designed for cleaning your coffee machine, though I find these a little expensive and not so good for the environment.
Follow this link for information on cleaning a coffee maker with vinegar.
Using vinegar to clean your coffee maker is both cheap and good for the environment. Vinegar is a natural cleaning agent and can remove the build up of coffee oils and hard minerals that come from the water. Yes even filtered water!
Having a regular cleaning program for your coffee machine not only keeps your coffee tasting fresh, but will add to the life of your coffee maker.
