Bunn Coffee Brewer - Good coffee maker for work place

Why get a Bunn coffer Brewer for the office? Well, I was in charge of buying the replacement coffee maker for our small office. I read a few reviews on the older Bunn coffee maker models and decided to splurge on this one. Everyone in our office loves it.

I bought us the 10 cup capacity coffee brewer, and it is the perfect size for us. We literally leave it on all day and re-brew as needed.

We have one tea drinker in the group and she even uses it for some quick hot water.

As far as I'm concerned, the best part about this coffee maker is that it's easy to clean, since I get stuck with that job all the time! The Bunn package came with some cleaning tools, which are nice, but not even that necessary with a little cleverness.

The coffee from our new Bunn brews really fast and stays piping hot. We have a lot of people working a lot of different shifts, so not everyone’s ‘morning’ is in the morning. It’s nice for the people who come in at noon to start their day to have some hot coffee waiting for them.

And it’s nice that we don’t have to worry about setting off the smoke alarms by leaving the machine on (a constant problem with our last antique), as this Bunn machine has an auto-off feature.

The only big problem we seem to have is, in the beginning, we had a problem with overflow. It seems like the water comes out of the spout faster than the coffee can brew. This created a nasty mess that your truly had to clean up. It was pretty irritating.

The problem has been temporarily solved for now. We wet the filter before we put the coffee in and that seems to help. We haven’t had any messes yet.

I’ve gone online and called the manufacturers and this seems to be a problem for people with our type of water. I don’t really know the chemistry of water, but we ordered a soft water filter through the company and were assured that would solve our problem.

It’s not a bad price for the quality and the use we get out of it. The office has had a Bunn coffee maker for quite a few months now, and it was even dropped twice. We can be pretty rough on our equipment I guess. Its out lasted a fax machine and a secretary and it’s still going strong.

I personally would have liked more color options to choose from, and if I were to buy one for home I would have probably searched harder for them, but for this small office, it works just fine.
