Who Makes The Best Drip Coffee Makers?Tough question! We have tested a whole bunch of coffee machines to find the Best Drip Coffee Makers on the market. We'll try to give you an overview, looking at several of the best drip coffee makers. There are some great Automatic Drip Coffee Makers for those who like to set the machine up before going to bed. (Nothing quite like waking up to the smell of a freshly brewed pot!) There are also a few fantastic Grind and Brew Coffee Makers too. We have also recieved a few questions from people writting in asking "why does my coffee taste so bitter?" This can be a common problem with drip or brew style coffee machines. There are in fact several reasons for your coffee tasting bitter - 1. Has your coffee been sitting long? Many people don't realise that coffee that has been brewed a long time ago will taste bitter. Have you ever noticed that your local coffee stop will throw out their coffee if it's been sitting to long? Despite there being Thermal Coffee Carafes on the market, designed to keep your coffee hot for hours... Don't get too carried away. The fresher the coffee, the less bitter it will be. 2. Is your coffee ground to fine? Another common problem is grinding your beans too fine, or buying pre-ground coffee that has been ground for espresso machines, not drip coffee makers. If you grind your coffee yourself, try this little test. When grinding your next batch of coffee beans, grind a small amount of coffee beans half as long as you would normally, and another small amount twice as long. Now compare the two grinds. You'll see a BIG difference in the taste.! And if you are buying pre-ground packets of coffee, make sure you buy the 'Drip', 'Filter', or 'Brew' grind. 3. What blend of coffee have you used? Do you drink French Roast or Sumatran? Italian or Blue
Mountain Blend? Flavoured or Traditional Blends? You will find there are almost too many blends out there
to try them all. (I am working on it though!) Different coffee blends have different acidity ratings. You
may think that no acidity is good? But trust me, you need a little at least. It's kinda like adding a
pinch of salt to your cookie dough... The cookies need that little touch of saltiness to balance to
sugar. 4. Do you use a water filter? As a large percentage of your cup of coffee is water, it stands to reason that the quality of your water will effect the taste of your coffee! There are many types of water filters on the market to improve the quality of the water before it goes through the coffee brewing proccess. Another common problem people write in to us about is, "My coffee isn't hot enough!" If you live in a cold climate, like I do, you will certainly find this to be true. An easy way around this is to pre-heat both your carafe, and your cup, before brewing your morning cup of joe! This is far better than overheating the coffee, which can result in a 'cooked' and bitter tasting coffee. Bunn Drip Coffee MakersAs stated on the Bunn Coffee Maker Page these guys have been making
